Valets trashed my car...
So after a long day at work (got in the office at 7:45 EST), I was pretty excited to go home and install my new UUC short shifter from Stratmosphere. I went outside (I work in the Penobscot Building, Detroit, MI) and asked the valets for my car. The head valet came over (uh oh) and told me that there was an "incident" with my car and that I should come over to the lot with him.
WTF!!! The front bumper was sagging about 3 inches, the hood latch was released but could not be opened, the front bumper was cracked in 6 or 7 different places, and both headlight washer covers and the front license plate cover were gone.
Tommorrow AM, I have an appointment with the general manager of the valet service to see what kind of compensation I can expect (the head valet said the company was liable for all damages). Just off the top of my head, I think it'll be $3,000 for the parts and labor...And that's without seeing what kind of havok was wrought on the inside!!!
So now I'm sitting back at my desk, waiting for my girlfriend to come pick me up and wondering what else I should do...I'm thinking that tommorrow I'll file a police report and get a hold of my insurance guy. Any other suggestions? If you're in the Detroit area and are going to the Penobscot...BEWARE of the free valet service.
Well, I guess it's time to upgrade to the RS4 bumper.

Why would you ever hand over your keys in the first place?
If valet jobs paid well, there'd be intelligent, responsible folks doing it. Remember that next time you're ready to fork over your keys.
