Default Very bad noise from drivers side and the car doesn't move

Hello guys! I am new to this website, so I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.
I have been having a terrible problem with my 2001 S4.
It all started when I was going on the highway. I was not going very fast(4th gear if I remember) when suddenly my speedo started going crazy(showing like 140mph). Straight after I noticed this, a loud clanking noise started, following by a complete loss of power. I got stranded on the highway. The car wouldnt move from spot in any gears.
Next day, I inspected the car and noticed that the axle boot is off and everything is covered in grease. I decided straightaway that it was a bad axle, so I ordered it immidiately.

However, after I installed it and decided to go for a test drive, the car moved 3m and the nightmare started all over again. Same noise, the car doesn't really move. It seems that something is not attached there. I am really confused.
Could anyone please help me out on this case?

Default What can it be if not axle?

The grinding rotational noise seems like something has disconnected.
