Pads thickness = ??? mm
Rotor thickness = ??? mm
Do you guys actually bust out the measure tape and measure it? or kind of just check it visually?

Hee hee...it's pass first, then brake! :-P
I followed him into a turn at Mid Ohio (coming off the back straight at 110) and saw him fly right past my braking point...at which point I said to myself "HELL NO!".

BTW, unless you track your car, you might not want to use this advice.
His method is more or less fine if the rotors are constantly subjected to extreme heat cycling. When the rotors have had enough, he'll develop cracks that will extend out to the edge of the rotor.
For a street driven kit that doesn't see a lot of track use, you might not be able to use those stress cracks as a marker, since you may never develop them. You're probably better off just using stoptech's guidelines of 30mm or thereabouts.

I use a caliper to measure rotor thickness but you are supposed to use a mic.
I will probably use them when they go below minimum thickness.
I think the brake pad compound has as much or more to do with rotor wear than driving style.
