Default 2013 S6 Turbo Failure

Well, after 54,000 miles, it finally happened.

I noticed that my car was idling rough 2 Saturdays ago. I turned it off and waited a few minutes and tried starting it again. No go, just kept turning over. The next morning, I tried to start it and heard this harsh metal on metal screech sound. I immediately shut it down and called my Audi mechanic and he said he'd come look at it later. He came out and hooked up his computer and said I have a bad turbo.

Got it towed for free thanks to Geico because it was being towed to a dealership. They gave me a 2018 Q3 as a loaner until it's fixed.

The service department called me today and stated that they're going to be replacing both of the turbos since this is known issue. Total cost they said? $9300. Thank god I purchased the remainder of the previous owners Audi Pure Protection Platinum package. Only have to pay my $250 deductible which is awesome!!

Should be interesting to see if there's an increase in performance after I get it back.

This makes me mad that its a known issue and they haven't created a Recall to prevent it from happening again. I guarantee that one o-ring recall isn't saving turbos. Luckily my intercooler saved my engine. $29,000 engine if it needed to be replaced. Just sayin.

This same exact thing just happened to me as well. Mine is also a 2013 only 53K miles on it and they are saying I have to replace both Turbo's. I can't believe Audi made such a crappy product. I thought I bought every coverage possible as this is going to cost me 8K
