Right, which is why I stated how much I filled up. Car took 17.998 gallons and the red light had been flashing for about three miles of very mellow driving. So, I would interpret this to mean the red light starts flashing when you get close to dipping into the reserve capacity.

I'd ask other people to test this but that wouldn't be fair :-).
