Default 2001 TT (225hp engine)

Brother just purchased with 72,000 miles. Looking for some feedback on a few things:

1) Best oil for the car.

2) What to expect in terms of problems. (what were common failures)

3) Any recalls?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Default Your brother's immediate issue...>>

should be to replace the timing belt, water pump and tensioner. Too many failures here in the 60K range to risk the $4K it's gonna cost him to fix it if he ignores this advice.
