thxs for this step-by-step... hoping it will apply to my 2001 Allroad 2.7t as well..
although I can see already that I won't have to remove the power steering pump,
as the compressor for the Allroad is tucked lower down below, and can be accessed
by removing the complete carrier (with headlights and radiator)
but from your list it looks like you started at an A/C shop to have refrigerant extracted....?
but then found a vacuum pump to rent for yourself....
If I can swap the A/C compressor, I need to know how to integrate my work with
an A/C shop...
