Engine startup problems??!
Now, here is my problem. I have an '01 225QR with 21,000 miles on it. Since March of this year, I have begun to modify it. The mods (in order of installation) are REVO tune, Neuspeed P-flo (I know, shoulda bought TTDA, probably still will), Forge DV, and Neuspeed cat-back. I have had no problems with the REVO tune, except for the fact that the d@m# Check Engine light won't go away. My problem began after the installation of the other mods. When my car's engine is hot, and the car is parked on an incline (exhaust facing downhill), the car is very reluctant to start. Once it finally does start, it sputters and blows black smoke from the pipes. It looks and sounds terrible, not to mention the fact that it is embarrassing. When this happens, the car wants to idle at 1500 rpm as opposed to the usual 800 rpm. This generally lasts for several minutes, and is really bugging the s#*7 out of me. Anyone have ideas as to: 1) what is causing this, and 2)how to correct the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS. My thoughts are that I either have a MAF problem, or that oil is being blown into my catalytic converter.
Welcome, by the way! I'm not too far from ya, in Atlanta, GA.
To know for sure you need to hook it up to a Vag com. Also change your temp Sensor. It can cause all sorts of problems especially if you still have the old black top style. Change it out for a new and improved Green top.
But first of all I would say get it Vag com'ed
Good Luck...

Another cheap fix you can try is replace your Temperature Sensor. It's an easy $6.00 buck fix and about 10 minutes to install. Don't let the dealer install it. They will rip you off and charge you way more than they should.
Make sure you get the Temp sensor with the GREEN Top. The one with the Black top is old and should not be used.
After you replace the MAF and the Temp sensor clear the codes and see if your running issues are solved.
Good luck to you. I know this can be very frustrating.
