help please, lights flashing ABS light on, door locks cycling
2001 Audi TT 225 coupe. Just tonight, the ABSand ESP lights went on, hazards quickly flash for a period of 3 seconds then stop, and door locks cycle as lights flash.
Vag Com says:
no engine fault codes.
ABS module: 00285 right front wheel speed sensor (G45)
Instrument cluster: 01316 ABS Control Module please check fault codes.
no other fault codes. Knowing the common issues with both the cluster and the ABS module I am leaning towards the ABS module as being down for the count. I do not want to waste $1000 replacing the cluster if I don't have to. unless otherwise directed, I guess a call to module masters is due. The only thing weird is the door locks cycling as the hazards flash.

clean off the flat surface of the abs sensor (where the screwdriver is pointing to) -- it will be covered in magnetized bits of metal that you can brush off and wipe. clear your abs code (in the abs module in vag-com). see if this resolves some of your problems. as far as the door locks cycling, hazards flashing.... no idea. maybe someone else can help there.
fyi: you don't need to pull the brake rotor to get at the sensor -- just the wheel.

a couple things i might check>>>>
the battery fuse box which is the component right on top of the battery....check all the connections to insure they are not rusty or corroded. With our New England weather, a bad connection could be part of the problem...
The flashing lights....how old is the battery?
When was the last time you did a green temp sensor?
I vote the easy stuff first.....
