Out of curiosity (sort of), has anyone used Nero M+S tires in the winter? how were they? thanks!

A friend of mine with an A4 says they're great. Not as good of a dry traction as the Conti's that
his 3.0 came with, but very useable in the winter. I'll be able to tell you more in the spring. I just had my set of Nero M&S installed on Friday. So far I think they have less dry traction than the Kumho ECSTA 711's that they replaced, but it's too soon to tell. They do feel a bit different and they're narrower than the KUmho's (still 225/45-17's).
Of course you don't need much for a baltimore winter.

They didn't give me any trouble last winter, and I plan on using them again this winter>>>
With them on, I never felt unsafe or unsecure. I never went into any skids in either snow nor sub-zero weather. With that said, I'm sure a dedicated winter tire would be better in snow, but as long as you don't go crazy on snowy roads you'll be fine. They appeal to me because I live in an apt. and don't have space to keep two sets of wheels.

yep - got me through last winter in NJ..... a little squiggly but we think that
might have been my alignment being out of whack since the dawn of time. They got me through the back roads and onto the highway at 4:30am for 60 miles in my daily commute to NYC and roads out my way don't get plowed well until after it stops snowing or around 7am for the daily rush - so I felt they did well. That said - this year I'm going with a dedicated set of snows since I commute so much (120 miles per day) - I want the added benefit of them on the ice (and snow) in case I get caught and have no other alternative but to plow on through to work or home....

i won't be in baltimore for the winter...
i have nokian wr's on the car right now, but i've been thinking about swapping/selling these wheels and the easiest way to do that would be to sell them with the nokians...
thanks for the info.

I don't really know where i'll be after that. i'll probably spend some time at home before traveling a bit (U.S. and Europe), then law school in the fall.
