Default Updated!!!there was some discussion about wyaTT about his AC not working..

Mine ended up being the fuse on the battery top..thanks to all that helped out!!

and was there ever a root cause determined?
I have had the same symptoms happen to me over the past few days,so I am going to check the fuses on top of the battery, and then if not there.. the switch under the battery..

Are there any other causes on why the AC is blowing hot air, and the car's temp rises while idling???
btw when I click on the AC.. the clutch doesn't engage (there's no drop of RPM's at all)..

thanks!

Default check the driver's side fan - that's a symptom of it not working >

those thing you checked were some possible reasons it might not be, short of it actually failing.

Default Wasn't closed... no response via e-mail -->

If your A/C clutch is not engaging, then it's electrical as you surmise. Visually determine though, the engine management system is very good at matching torque demand (i.e. no RPM drop). You're on the right track though.

Default thanks... yeah you are correct..

but there's always a little hickup in the RPM's when the AC clicks in....
I'll update tonight when I figure out what the deal is..
thanks for your insight!!

Default would the drivers side fan have anything to do with the AC blowing hot air??

I mean, does the fan trigger the AC clutch to engage???

Default with your temp rising description >

irc, it blows on the condensing unit (ac coils)as well as the radiator; but I admit I don't know wrt the ac clutch engaging. I had exactly the above symptoms and that was the problem.

I believe they are on the same fusible link. Mine did the same thing.

Default #3 30A fuse on top of the battery-->

The same electronic module runs both coolant fans and controls the A/C clutch.

Red with white stripe. Also check all the other 30 amp fuses there, one of the others also feeds this module, has a smaller red wire.
