What is it?
Washing my new TT today I noticed there's a small sticker on the bottom side of the spoiler right up aganist the body of the car. It looks like a serial number or something. Anyway, its already starting to come off - is it important? I'd like to take it off, but should I keep it for some reason? My guess is it was accidently left on there during assembly...
Sounds dumb I know.. but I cant think of any other reason for it.

It's the Audi gmbh part # sticker for the spoiler (more)
It is of no value whatsoever: take it off. It's often missed in pdi because of its location. I noticed mine on delivery and got the dealer to take it off: it wasn't easy.

I had this, and it took an hour to remove....
I used a guitar pick, my fingernails, and a plastic putty knife (!) to remove mine. Then used rubbing alcohol on the gooey residue left behind. After that, I used Zaino clay bar, and other assorted products. Paint looks perfect in that spot now.
Serious PITA.

Mine is still there...I'm nervous as heck about taking it off..
It's a tight spot and it sounds like that sucker is really on there. I guess I'll bite the bullet the next time I detail it, though.

Go get some GooGone. It helps remove the goo residue that's left after you eventually
eventually get the sticker off.
The guitar pick is a good idea. I only needed my finger nails, but it took me longer. :-)

I've got some remover that will do the trick...
Same stuff as I used for the windshield sticker and for cleaning the paint before applying the Invinca-shield. I also happen to have a guitar pick which sounds like a great idea. Maybe I'll give it a go tonight.

About the guitar pick, let me add...
that the pick was pretty well worn from playing, and therefore the edge that contacts the strings had been bevelled and made sharp. This helped get under the sticker and sort of "plow" it away from the paint.
You could approximate the bevel with a file if you don't play guitar.
