Default What happens if I use Z2 rather than Z3 on my 92 Talon....

Z2 is the polish for clear coated paint and Z3 is for regular paint. I doubt if my talon has much of the clear coat left on the paint, so what happens if I use the Z2 on the car? Anything?

Default I'm sure it would be OK, it's not gonna hurt the clear-coat or paint...

You gonna do all the steps? clay-bar on up?

Default Talon got special treatment while TT is being babysat.

Got bored on the weekend, and since I'm selling my Talon, I wanted it to look as best as it could. So I did a Z1, Z5, and Z6 on it. Will go back over it with a Z2 if it won't hurt the car. Can't wait to do it on my TT! I get it back today. Oh, and I didn't get the claybar.

If you already did 1, 5 and 6, I wouldn't do 2 then.

BTW-Did they tell you *why* they thought your head gasket was leaking?

Default But you can switch back and forth from Z5 to Z2....

Z5 is simply for swirl marks and such... documentation says to finish with Z2 anyway since it has higher optical properties.

Ok, but if you used Z-6, the gloss enhancer, it just seemed a bit redundant. Save it for the TT!

Default Head Gasket Detail

They have put off giving me back my car many times. First I was supposed to have it last Tuesday. Then they said they had to order Head Bolts so it would be Thursday until I could get my car. Thursday came and they said they had to order the torque wrench so it would be ready Monday. Then Monday (yesterday) they said that they took it for a test drive and that the engine light came on but that it was probably due to misfires that happen right after taking the car for the first test drive after being worked on or some nonesense like that. So they said they had it on the computer diagnostic to check the code for the engine light and that if nothing was wrong I could get it back Tuesday. They called today and said it's ready for pickup. If the engine light comes on again... I am claiming the lemon law and demanding another car! Anyways, they said the head gasket had a crimped gasket in the hardest to reach corner, and that is where the leak was coming from. Hope everything is back to new condition now, and that this nightmare is over! I'll keep you all updated!

Default You should always use Z2 on anything painted with clearcoat whether you think it's there or not

Paint is entirely different.
