Audi A4 B8: How to Make SD Card Playlists

A Secure Digital Card, or an SD card as it is universally known, is a small, compact memory card you can use to transfer data back and forth between your most prized devices, as well as the multimedia interface (MMI) in your vehicle. As such, it's especially popular among Audi A4 B8 drivers. Music enthusiasts who want to stream music but are unable to do so because the MMI in the Audi A4 B8 does not come equipped with an iPod interface, only an AUX jack, can easily save their favorite tunes to a new or used SD Card and then use the card to play them through their sound system. Here's how!

Step 1 – Export your music

Access your iTunes account (or other music catalog) from your computer. Now that you have complete access to your music folders, arranged by artist, album and song, go ahead and export each of the files you wish to transfer over to your Audi using only the MP3 format. Save the exported files to an easily accessible folder, perhaps on your desktop for temporary usage.

Step 2 – Amend the folder name

Edit the path, as needed, so it doesn't contain the original folder name (e.g., My Documents or iTunes). Make sure all files have been converted to MP3 before continuing on to the next step.

Step 3 – Copy your files

Go ahead and pop your SD card into the SD card reader on your computer and save the files on the card; the path must comply with the structure approved for your SD card. Mac computer users may need to make further amendments so the line breaks are compatible for the MMI in your Audi to read.
