Default Side door mirror

This may be a stupid question, but I need a new left side mirror. The top of it is discolored. How do I know if mine has the memory option? I was searching for a new mirror and they have them with/without memory. I'm not sure what kind I have. I've never seen any type of memory button near my mirrors control switch.

I think the mirrors are plain, heated, or heated with dimming.

I think the memory is in a controller in the car.

The switch looks the same unless you have power folding mirrors.

You said discolored, you mean the glass? That would indicate dimming mirrors.

What model, what year and what options? (option codes are in the trunk on a sticker and/or in the owners/warranty manual.)

Yes the glass is discolored. It is a 2002 A6 Quattro, with power folding mirrors, heated leather seats with memory, and 6xl mirrors. Now I am guessing it does have memory with the 6xl option.

If you have memory seats with the buttons on the lower interior door panel then you have memory mirrors, even though the switches look the same they are not.

If you have anti-glare mirrors "dimming" the center mirror will have a light sensor in the upper center of the mirror, if the side mirror appears to have a double-vision effect with a different tint color generally the fluid in the mirror is displaced and you will see a black plastic trim around the glass.

If you have standard heated side mirrors generally you will see a copper film starting in the corner spreading out.

You need new mirror glass. Anti-dazzle has black trim around tbd glass.
Pop out the mirror glass and the part number is on the back.
