As I understand it: right now I at least have ABS working and I'm only missing the ability of the controller to selectively brake rear wheels creating "EDL"
From what I could find EDL is "created" by braking one or the other rear wheel to "send" torque to the non-braking wheel. As it is Summer now, missing EDL will be acceptable giving me time to find a more appropriate module.

well, i got a chance to try my idea (no offense mtroxel, but like i said it metered out fine at the connector) and BAM the abs light is out! i *understand* that there's got to be some difference between the FWD & 4WD module otherwise there wouldn't be a 1 wire difference but my LIGHTS are out and that f-ing beeping is gone. This gives me time to continue searching the local pull-a-parts for a more relevant module. And, maybe there really isn't a difference, it'd be nice to know what changes from one module to another. This is the module off of a 1998 VW passat v6.
Hi waspie, I have a Audi A6 with a failed abs module ecu, my part number on my original ecu is 0273 004 283 and the one I got from the Scrappies today came off a a4 Quattro with the part number, 0273 004 284, when I fitted the second hand ecu I also had the fault code rear right speed sensor, what am looking for is which wire to change at the plug or pin, do you think itl be the same as yours pin 2 for pin 3, I know it's been awhile since you posted on this thread but any help would be grateful as I'm sick of the abs light being on and I got this Quattro ecu for nothing which has been recently repaired haha, cheers
