Default Can anyone reccomend a resonator to add to my exhaust?

looking for something that is not too restrictive but will cut down on the drone of the Neuspeed at highway speeds. It's not bad in the flat lands but once I hit the mountains the drone gets pretty bad from the added load.

Default You will first have to figure out where you will want to locate the resonator

then find the largest one with the same ID piping as to not restrict flow.

I looked into putting in a 3rd resonator with my AWE system but when my installer looked at where he would splice it in there were not too many options due to the side of the resonator itself.

He was going to use a Magnaflow unit but I don't remember the model but it was 18" in length.

The cost of him flanging the resonator, cutting and flanging the exhaust and putting it all together was more than I expected and even then there was nothing guaranteeing that the drone would be reduced to a level I liked.

So after a bunch of meetings I decided to pull my exhaust off and swap it for another brand.

Default Are you cutting out the NS resonators and replacing w/ new ones?

You can get universal stainless steel circular mufflers (like Magnaflows) of a larger diameter and/or length (canister size, not piping) and use those as replacements.

It's kind of a crapshoot though since it's hard to predict the resulting sound level and quality. It's also a bit of a shame to have to hack at a nice exhaust.

Default not difficult at all. read inside

i'd say start by removing your rear seats. lay down some on the floorboard beneath the seats and if you really want to do a thorough job, remove your front seats too.

if you need more, sound deadening, then pop off your door panels and add some there too.

keep in mind, it will add some weight, but its worth it for a more peaceful ride.

dynamat is a stick on sheet. they also have other similar products which is a spray on format. ask TOKNAZN on AudiLounge.com, he knows all about this stuff.
