Be sure to call homelink directly and have them talk you through a programming session. If they verify you did everything correctly, then go to the dealer and demand a new one. I went back to the dealer 3 times complaining of this, and every time they'd say, "Our computer says it's fine... be sure to read the manual". And I'm trying to tell them that I have two other cars with homelink with NO problems and I'm not a morron... at least this time.
Finally, after homelink became involved, the dealer replaced the unit on their say-so and everything works fine now.
