I had to cut the ashtray a fair bit at the front (closest to shifter), to fit the dock. I also had to use a subpar 90deg elbow for the line in. I will upgrade this when I find a higer quality piece that will fit.

Thoughts?

CompUSA has one Blue iPod mini left in stock. So I paid for it over the phone, and picked it up that evening.

Since I have received 2 calls from the apple store offering me a blue iPod mini they now have in stock.

So if I were you, I would try calling CompUSA / Best Buy etc...

But first get your name on the list at the apple store. You can always say "no thanks I found one at store XXXXX".

I know I could STFA for installs. . . . .but I don't recall seeing anything regarding ipod vs. cd sound quality. I was (perhaps mistakenly, I dunno) under the impression mp3 sound was crap due to loss of bits.

and why an ipod and not phatbox?
