Hi,
My 2017 A4 has developed this quirk where the engine Auto-stop sometimes engages and stops the engine (which is fine and not bothersome). But then it proceeds to completely shutoff the car. As a result i cannot simply lift my foot off the brake and expect it to start. It needs to be restarted using the power button. This has become really irritating and nerve racking during intersection stops and when the car completely stops suddenly after Auto-stop has been engaged. Short of deactivating the Auto-stop feature, is there something else i can do?

Just curious, did you put it into Park after the auto stop kick in? If so, it will go to complete shutoff. I do use Auto Stop once a while and it has never happened to me it went into complete shut off unless I park it.

It may be the start button actually. I believe there's a TSB for it

I'd take it to the dealer ASAP. Do you get the green A with the circle on the dash ? Or does the dash completely go blank (as in switched off ?)
