@adit999 Don't know if you managed to do the updates but the following will give you the links to various sources that will help you for your version of MMI https://mib-helper.com/index.php?tra..._P3639#details

Also any reason why you didn't make the update like is it unsafe?
I found file with VC software update in mibsolution.one. It is called AU_C1_AU37X_0069_0310_prod_8S0906961AM_A3_2018.7z. You will find it under MQB_Solution/VC-AID updates.
I am not sure if this is the latest available version, as OBD11 shows even version 0109 next to my version, but I think 0069 is the last one that is available public.

As I mentioned, the main reason why I was thinking about doing the update was activation of Sport Layout, but as this layout works ok even with my 0045, then I do not have strong need of doing the update. The only benefit that probably 0069 would bring (I am not sure 100% tough) is tab saving. For me this is something nice to have, but not must have, so I do not feel a pressure

The update procedure itself seems to be quite easy. You just prepare SD card with FAT32 system and block size 4096 of byte, and put software there, and then to SD1 slot of your MIB unit. After that you do ignition on, but without starting the engine, start the update from Red Menu and that is it. As it may take up to 20 minutes, it is good to have some external charger connected while doing the update, to avoid voltage drops. However as with every electronic device, something may go wrong, so there is always some risk.

If you decide to do the update you may share information how it went, how long did it take, if indeed 0069 provides tab saving feature

@arioner I see a lot of people mention OBD11 show them the latest version beside their ver, mine doesn't so is that a PRO feature? Also are you able to update it through OBD11 to make things easier?

Honestly speaking I do not know if it is a feature of PRO version or not, but I have PRO version indeed. My guess is that there is some OBD11 database server that stores information on the users hardware setup and software verions in it. Then if you go to Information about Control Unit, it compares parameters of your unit with information in the database and if a newer verions for the same hardware setup is found, you get this information. Maybe you have slightly different hardware nunber (I mean this 8V0 part) and that is a reason why you do not see thr newer verion. But if all the details of e.g. your VC match mine, then I would expect you should see it.

I doubt OBD11 is able to do the software update. At least I have never done this and also never read any post saying that it is possible.

Hello ! After i updated VC firmware to 379 (H12) on my 2016 A4 B9... to activate Sport Layout and i observed 3 issues relative with MMI unit:
- Compas is gone while i'm using Android Auto (fixed by activating dual navigation so i can have MMI Map on VC while i'm using Android Auto Maps);
- Map on VC on Sport Layout not centered so, assumed that MMI firmware (K2161) is old i updated to K3344 (K3346) and it was fixed;
- Road Signs not any more visible in VC (actually before i could see only speed limit signs) - this i could not fix it yet... and for this i'm asking if someone had same and how was fixed ?

Thank You !

Hello guys,

I have updated the VC on my A4 B9 2016MY which was H11 with 0281 SW to the latest 0370 SW (AU_C1_AU491_0379_1310_prod_8S0906961AL) and I also lost the traffic sign recognition function on the VC which was working perfectly before the update << no traffic sign recognised >>.
I have read all the forums and info I could find for a couple of hours without any luck so I got into the car with VCDS and went through all the possibilities in the VC long coding and adaptations and also camera module A5 long coding and adaptations almost to the point where I was about to flash the camera module.
Finally before I gave up I’ve checked again the VC long coding and found something unticked for the TSR, which I suppose is a new configuration for the new VC software and after ticking it I have traffic sign recognition working again.

So the solution is to go to the VC long coding and have both these options enabled:17 INSTRUMENTS – CODING
  • Activate byte 5 -> bit 2
  • Activate byte 14 -> bit 6 (in newer models) >> this may be VC update related
I hope you guys fix it as well using this coding.

Thanks!
