Shokan Coachworks (West Shokan, NY) has them used for $56 including shipping. I got mine in two days.

Just let me know if you find anything. I still haven't placed an order with Hong Kong...

Along the lines of this topic-- anyone know the REAL way to remove the rear cupholders that are built into the seat bottom?
I'm pretty good at wrenching, have owned 70+ VW, audis, and porsches, worked in many shops and even though I've removed the rear seat completely and tried about everything short of brute force- I simply cannot figure out how it comes out.

Ha, you could always have one overnighted for the low low cost of $200!!

Unfortunately I did not have a cupholder in my parts bin, I had two card trays...I have two cupholders in my dash, whoops!

Luckily, on my monthly run to the salvage yard(this morning) I came across a cupholder that is in great condition mechanically. It has two small blemishes on the faceplate but otherwise its great!

Sent you an email about shipping...

rollerton, I'd love to know how to get those things out myself, I battled with one today and couldn't get it to release properly(I ripped out the guts of one side).

check on ebay. I got one a while back for $20 bucks. You do need a tool to get the old one out though. it's like the radio removal thingy.

Yeah I've bought other stuff from this guy and the shipping is actually pretty quick considering. If you are not in a hurry the price is certainly right!

The only write-up I could find that had any info about removing the dash cupholder suggested using a screwdriver to pry the wood trim piece off and then two smaller screwdrivers to release the cupholder assembly. The same write-up warned that the clips that hold in the wood trim piece on are likely to break during removal.

Does using the tool you mentioned avoid having to remove the wood trim? If so, do you know where I can get one? If not, do you have any advice for removing the wood trim without damaging it (or any way to avoid removing it at all)?

Thanks!

So I received my replacement cupholder yesterday (thanks sqplus!), so I thought I'd ask again if anyone has any ideas/advice/experience on removing the dash cupholder.

Is there any way of removing the dash cupholder without removing the wood trim?

If so, do I need anything such as the removal tool that audijim mentioned?

If so, where do I get one?

Thanks

If anyone else has a stuck/broken DASH cupholder or wants to replace the card tray or silly ESP button with a second cupholder I have a couple extras now, just shoot me a message!
