Oh, and I hated both, other than the wagon's people-carrying ability for beach trips in high school, and the "parking"

55 Plymouth Savoy, flathead 6, three on the tree, "Worlds slipperiest bench seat."
I loved it. Added 50 hp with the "Richard Petty for President" bumper sticker. Learned skid control in that car. Sheriff's never caught me in the act, but they did visit my parents a few times with neighbors complaining of a "constantly sideways white Plymouth" whenever it rained.

1962 Morris Mini Minor with 848 cc engine. Great to drive, but a little underpowered. Many fond memories though. A friend and I drove down to Florida in it from Toronto one Christmas in our second last year of high school. Somewhere along the way down we ran into some clutch-slipping problems (leaky crankshaft seal), but continued nevertheless. And around Virginia I think my friend hit a curb, which put the alignment out. We went though quite a lot of rubber over the remainder of the trip. No one in the US carried those 10 inch tires, so we got a little worried towards the end, but with careful driving made it home with some tread to spare. One summer I stripped the engine down and replaced piston rings, bearings, etc. -- my first encounter with this kind of thing. I later graduated to a Mini Cooper and then a Mini Cooper S (but long before the new BMW series of Minis).

'88 black Ford Bronco. Loved it and miss it. I still see it on the road in my town occasionally...
Lots of memories of piling all my friends in for road trips and typical teenage debauchery. Good times...
