Is there a VIN lookup system to get more than just model, year, etc?

 

There isn't much info in a VIN. 17 digits with the last 8 indicating the year and unique identifier. The first 9 show the country of origin, maybe the model, maybe the engine, maybe the trans, and maybe the model and trim level. You already know those things. Some newer VINs show airbag info and some other useless info. Google yours and see what pops up. You might be surprised but I bet not.

 

Some manufacturers have lookup systems top get options and color and such.

Guess Audi does not (at least for the public)

 

Googling tells you a lot for a car that has been sold (or listed) multiple times)

If you are seeking more detailed info about installed options on the car, look in the spare tire well for a sticker with a bunch of 3 digit codes printed on it.

That is the type of stuff the MB data card provides from the VIN.
