Oil Capacity on 2007 A6 3.2
I know this is a sore subject with some, but I need some info. I purchased a CPO 2007 A6. What is the oil capacity of it when filter is changed. I did a search and 1 poster(sorry I forgot who) said 6.9 quarts I believe. I didnt get a manual, dealer said he would get it to me . I pulled out 8 quarts by the way.
I had asked dealer to change the oil at my cost before I picked it up since it had about 6k miles on it. Dealer says they do all the CPO cars. When I pulled the dipstick the oil looked black, so rather than get go back to the dealer (45 miles away) I would change it myself. I put in 7 quarts for now.
I saw on another forum where 8 quarts is factory fill
Sorry for the long post

Looks like the resources say 8.6 is factory fill, but 6.9 is change amount.
Don't know why that is.

Kemer, GK1 posted the Audi manual specs PDF above, 6.9 is the correct amount unless it's a brand new factory engine. One thing you never want to do is over-fill this engine, it's better to be slightly under then over-filled.
I usually put 6 qts in with a new filter..start the car for a min or so to fill the filter then shut it off, check the dip stick and add to just 'under full.

Must say I really didn't look at the PDF untill you mentioned it. Took the owners manual at it's word. Looks like I have been overfilling the motor. HHMMM wonder if that was the cause of my PVC system failiure, and all the crud I had to endure with my car... Oh well...only 7 qts from here on out.
