Thank you. That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure. Any warning signs when your battery is about to fail?

They rarely just fail. Longer cranking time, especially when temps drop. And change in sound while cranking.

Default Battery Charge

1. <55K miles & battery is 6 years old
2. After an accident in May, my car "sat" for 69 days without being driven
3. When I got my car back, everything related to the battery worked perfectly fine (e.g., no warning lights or trouble starting)
4. My car has been at the Audi dealer being serviced (for something else) and it most likely will have been sitting for 2 weeks when I finally take delivery of it
5. My work commute is about an hour roundtrip (75% highway/25% surface streets) three (3) days a week and I seldom drive on the weekends

That being said, do I "need" to replace my car battery immediately? If not, how much "life" do I have left in my battery before it's needs replacing? My plan was to replace it when I bring my car in at the next service interval in about 6-7 months.

I have a 2013 at 100k miles. I routinely charge my battery about 2 or 3 times a year with a schumaker digital battery charger. If it says 63% , just charge it with a good digital charger and it will be good to go. I am on this thread because I am considering replacing my battery only because I am at 8yrs now and 100k miles and don't want to pay that $600 dealer charge. But, the car is functioning as expected with no issues at this time.

Long story short, took car to Audi and got battery replaced. Cost way too much. good news after a few years the battery failed again and I had paid for a lifetime battery at Audi, so battery replaced for free as long as I own the car.
