Front CA pinch bolt must be replaced new?
I'm about to have new shocks and wheel bearings installed on the front end of my D2. I'm guessing that all the control arm pinch bolts need to be replaced with new bolts correct? If so how many bolts are there so I can be order new ones.

IMHO, there are a ton of bolts that can be reused and I have reused most of the suspension bolts. I don't know why the manual specifies so many of them to be replaced unless they are just looking to sell more parts... Anyway, the only bolts that I have ever replaced because of stretching or fatigue are the ultra-high torque-to-yield bolts used on the wheel bearings and the timing gear/crank pulley bolt. Both of these bolts require a initial torque followed by an additional 180 degrees of rotation. On my crank pulley bolt, I thought I was going to snap it off it was soooo tight! The only reason I removed the crank bolt was to change the oil seal during my last timing change.
If I recall correctly, the wheel bearing bolts are 140 foot / Lbs followed by 180 degrees of rotation.
But all the suspension pinch bolts? Nah, all of them are probably under 45 ft/Lbs. Just make sure to use a decent torque wrench. If the threads are jacked up though, I'd probably replace them. Not worth the hassle if you booger those up.
