Default Fuel/Trunk buttons

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to replace the Fuel/Trunk buttons in the door panel? Do I need to remove the door panel? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, panel comes off. For what it's worth though, I found the switch replacement part fairly difficult to do. Panel is easy once you have pulled it once and know the steps. But that specific switch assembly is tightly sandwiched in there with the hinged storage pocket and thus difficult to get at. Window switch block and door lock switch are much easier to do.

Quick tip, the door trim clips take a tremendous amount of force to "pop". So much so you'll be convinced you missed a screw or bolt and are about to break something. But persevere and you'll get there. And you will break some clips so make sure to have some spares. They're cheap enough and readily available from dealers or online.

Someone needs to create & sell matte black stickers with various icons to cover all the worn buttons. The black is easy enough to remove and there's a nice smooth white surface beneath. I can't believe it hasn't been done.
