turbo on a 10v?
can you slap a turbo/supercharger onto a 5cyl 10v 1986 4000q powerplant? and if so, where can i get one.
I'm asking because all i ever hear people talking about is 5000 turbo engine swaps. Now i'm all about more power but that is a hell of a lot of work. Lastly, would a 5000 turbo match up to a 4000q transmision?

The cheapest way to go is with a full motor swap...
...It's also the least amount of headache. You do need the all of the wiring from the motor, as well as the ECU to get the job done right though. And yes, the motor will bolt up to your transmission.

Re: turbo on a 10v?
It is probably just easier to swap the entire deal from another car. You think it's hard work? Try building a turbo system from scratch!
One thing that would be an advantage in using the regular 2.2 is higher compression. It would help take some of the bottom end deadness out of the turbo.
Be aware, with a turbo swap you'll have to give up your a/c system. One of the many reasons I didn't go that route.

I think you have to be aware if the donor had an auto or 5-speed because...
I think you would have to install a pilot bearing in an auto version engine. I don't know if the flywheel is different, though.
