Default Power top problem: Could it be the trunks power lock actuator??

I ran accross a post about the trunk lock actuator going bad and causing the top to malfunction.

I messing around with the wires in the trunk and locking unlocking the trunk I found that the locking actuator is malfunctioning.

If you lock the car with the door key, the trunk doesn't lock. If you lock the trunk the doors will lock.

What do you think?

Also do you know were I could purchase the two wiring harnesses for the trunk lids, and the trunk switch, and trunk lock actuator cheap(no dealer)?

Default Mine has same conditions ...

by locking with the trunk, all doors will lock, by locking at the doors, all doors lock but trunk will not (also same results with the remote)

I thought it was normal for the door locks to not lock the trunk though, is it not?

as for wiring harness' try autox.biz or force5

Default Re: Not sure on Cabs, but on Sedans, the trunk will lock or not lock, depending on how

you used the key last. You can set the key cylinder so it will unlock (for normal, for example) or will stay locked (for valet).

I didn't know if the trunk should lock or not. I ran across it in a post (about the actuator problem)

Thats why I posted this to find out what should or shouldn't happen.

Default So you pulled apart the wiring loom that covers the wires that run along the trunk hinge??

(Looking for frayed/broken wires).
