A3/S3 MMI Nav Plus manual pdf & Phone Box
I found this tonight while searching for information on the status of the A3/S3 Audi Phone Box.
Philly.com article in March 2014 reports the Audi Phone Box was FCC approved. No sign yet that this is being included in the 2015 A3/S3 being or to be delivered.
What's hot in car tech? Audi's new A3 - Philly.com
Another Google link took me to FCCID.net where FCC applications are in a database.
This pdf document was submitted to the FCC for a Harman Becker approval. The phone box is referenced in the document.

Still puzzled why this technology is not in USA MY 2016 models, nor in the 2017 Q7. I guess Audi doesn't think its needed since Audi Connect has its own SIM card, cell modem and antenna. In Europe, Audi uses the owners cell phone for Audi Connect services via rSAP.
Anyone have any better information?

Description reads: "The final solution to all your in-car communication needs if you use an Apple iPhone®. There is now a packaged system that works with MMI and RNS-E systems that allows for seamless connection between your iPhone® and the in-car audio/navigation system. Alongside the standard Bluetooth hands-free functions (accept/reject call/hands-free), the iPhone® Interface supports the display of the signal strength, the provider’s name, uses the in car antenna for better range, automatic muting, charges your phone and keeps it in place neatly. This does not connect the iPhone to the Audi Music Interface."
