For previous generation B8.5 (and I suppose B8) A5/S5 with MMI systems, I bought a CarPlay device in October through AliExpress and it wrks great. I do not experience any phone voice lag at all. The seller is called "CarStore" if you are curious, and priced around $US 250. It gives me maps through the iPhone, whether Apple maps or Waze etc. Music and phone call all working wirelessly, no need to cable/USB connect (but you can).

In my opinion, if you're going to spend money on anything, I'd make it the phone cradle that was created and is currently sold by forum member MH62:

It's adjustable and can work with Android phones or iPhones. I've had mine installed for almost 2 months, using it with a Pixel 4. I absolutely love the ease/convenience of quickly slipping the phone right into the cradle when I get in the car and easily pulling it out when I get out of the car. This setup allows for wired phone charging and Android Auto or Apple Car Play. It really is amazing and continues to be my favorite and most used mod. Now, the only time the wireless charge gets used is when my wife is in the car and needs to juice her phone up.

Re: signal boosting capability...according to the TSB that I ran across the Audi phone box is not really a signal booster in the traditional sense, i.e., it really doesn't boost the signal from the phone to the network, rather it just moves the signal from inside the car to an external antenna. If you can't receive a good signal while standing outside the car the phone box won't improve it.

I checked my 2019 S5 has neither WLAN 5GHz or Apple CarPlay listed in this module.

Hi All,

I am UK based and recently bought a 2021 Q3 Sportback. I use the car for work and need the ability to connect two phones at the same time I.e. they both ring through the car speakers when receiving a call. This was a standard feature on my 2018 Golf so I am surprised it isn’t on the Q3.

Does anyone know if this is possible without Audi Phone Box?

Check in your Connection Manager to see if you have two phones enabled. You will see primary and secondary phone. If not, you could use OBDEleven to enable that function if your car came with it, but it's disabled due to a different market.

I can see the number of bars change in the Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin virtual cockpit display once the the wireless charging starts.
