A5 Passenger Door requires lot of force to latch
hello everyone, I just took delivery of my 2014 A5 on Oct 4th. After a week, I noticed that the passenger side door requires more force to close completely compared to the driver side. Has anyone else have this issue? Please help! I'm kind of sad this has become an issue so soon after delivery.

Two possible issues, door is out of alignment or the window is not indexing.
Are the seams even? Does the window go down slightly when you open the door?

I have a brand new A5 coupe, and a 2010 Cab. Both are noticeably harder to get shut than the drivers door. This, only if the alignment and indexing are on as the previous poster indicated. Enjoy your new ride, and don't let anyone slam em...ever. :-)

The window does roll down slightly when I open the door. I had the dealership service check out the doors. They agreed that the passenger door needs more force. They checked the alignment and said its fine. They also said that any other adjustment to the door as far as the hinge/striker would cause the door to not seal properly or let wind noise in. Their recommendation was that the weather seal on the door is new and needs time to be broken in so suggested I wait and see if it gets any better (sounds like a BS excuse to me). I think it might be a bad latch that not catching easily.
@N.E AudiAR, have your doors been fixed? If not, has the condition gotten any worse?

I'm telling you --- try this ----
1. either leave the driver's door 100% open or the window down all the way
2. with the passenger window all the UP, try to close the door.
if its way easier to close, it's an indexing issue--interior pressure is not being allowed to escape.

Tried it and you are right the door closed easier. I talked to the dealership today about it. They said that any car would be easier to close if one window was down. They were adamant that the seals on the passenger side are the issue since the window does roll down a little. The car is with them for an unrelated issue so I'm hoping they at least check the indexing again. Will update after I get the car back.

So just got my car back. Dealer did check the indexing on both doors and said they are up to spec. They are sticking by the seal story. I think I will wait till my 5k service and if it doesnt get better by then they will replace the seal on the door.
