It's all in fun. I'll admit that I might be asking for trouble, but I've had this plate since i was 18 and that was a long time ago. I can't seem to part with it. As it happens it is my last name otherwise I wouldn't be so bold. It will be pretty easy to remember if I do something I shouldn't. By the way, I kind of like AUDIUDO.

I'd go with the self-referential L PLATE or perhaps VANITY, although I'm betting both are probably gone in many states. Other thoughts...

DMV 2ME (plate is from them to you)
READ ME (what you want people to do if you get a vanity plate)
CON MADE (referring to the stereotypical "prison job" of making plates)
XTRA TTL (what you had to spend to get the plate)

Actually, if you can't tell, I'm not a vanity guy either, but I'd at least go for humor if I were getting one.

No speeding tickets since 1986. Knocking on wood like crazy right now. I did get stopped once for an expired registration and for a license plate frame (illegal in CT, it said Red Sox, I suspect that the cop was a Yankee fan). They did get a laugh when they realized my name was Lawless and that I wasn't just being a wise ***.
