Piano Black center console protection?

Was this the dealer you purchased the car from? If so, I'd have them do all the warranty work only. When the warranty was over I'd visit the (Owner/ Mr. Big) at the dealership and tell him you will never set foot inside his f-fing dealership again, EVER!

Unfortunately, it is. If they keep being stubborn about such a simple request I might take it up with the the sales and service managers.

For future lurkers and researchers on this issue, you should have the piano black section ceramic coated. My ceramic installer put 5 coats down on that area and the touchscreen in the wives new Q5. So far so good.

Did he remove the center piece or ceramic coat while still installed?

Yeah that's an option and a lot of coats! Good thing is you can take a polishing compound like Essence plus and correct fine marring but to be honest PPF will protect it a lot more when it comes to mishandling of seat belt buckles, rings, bracelets etc. Not sure how it looks though with PPF.

I just had the piano black center console covered in the Xpel Stealth Mattr PPF. I had Umbra (tint, wrap and ceramic shop in Schaumburg, IL) tackle that while they were wrapping the front end of my RS5 with the Xpel PPF. They charged me $80,
but it turned out a lot better than I expected so it was worth it to me.
