Gonna get chipped
so, im getting chipped here in about a week, after i get it back from the shop. havent decided which yet but im trying to decide between apr and giac. i have both very close to me so convenience is no big deal.
my questions are these:
- turbo cool down time (stock 2.7T w/ 30K miles)?
- weird reactions from the Tip?
- any other adverse side effects?
- required upgrades at the same time?
- mpg drops or slight raises?

I have GIAC ECU+TCU chip in my S4 and the APR ECU chip in my AR 2.7T. I don't miss the Tip Chip
all that much in the AR, and I'm impressed by the power of the APR chip (after discounting for the extra 600 lbs. that I'm hauling around in the AR).
You can't go wrong with either, IMO.
No issues with APR and the Tiptronic - no real gear hunting.
You might want to upgrade the DVs to Bosch 710Ns and also get a Samco TBB (no need for APR bipipe) with the chip.
