My alarm is crazy, goes off for no reason, any ideas?
01 ar. Goes off till it kills the battery. It goes off for the cycle, beep 120 seconds, flash after 30 seconds, stops. But then it goes off again in like 5 minutes. Locks and remotes work fine. I tried turning off the interior motion sensor with the button on the b-pillar. No luck, does the same thing. Pulled the fuse and the horn no long goes, but the lights do. Gave up last night and pulled the neg side of the battery off so I could start it. Any ideas?

Welcome to my current hell....
...this is what happens to my junk. It gets worse with moisture.
My Vag scan shows that the the "alarm is triggered by interior monitoring"... but the B-pillar switch is off, and the interior monitoring (which does show codes on legitimate alarm triggers) shows nothing.
Based on the fact that it seems related to ambient moisture, I'm guessing either component failure (interior control monitoring unit) or something loose in the monitoring.
Short term? Get very good at putting your radio codes in after reconnecting the battery - my corrent solution for long parking stretches.
Long term? I need to replace the interior control unit. Bentley shows it as being "Under the drivers seat" with little other information.
Where are you located? I could vag-scan you if you're close to Boulder, CO.
By the way, the snow caused my alarm to go off last night at 10PM. Unhappy.
Cheers
Bob

Mine went off at 1 am last night, our new neighbors must love us.
We moved in 5 weeks ago. Wish I was close to CO, moved from Utah to MD ... miss snow and Alta... I did the battery cable to shut it down.
Last year we had the same issue. The dealer told me it was the interior sensor and turned down the sensitity by 50%. That worked for a while, but that was during a salt lake winter. MD seems to rain all the time, so a moisture related ground fault sounds right.
Good news is my car is still under the CPO, so I'll take it in. IF they replace anything I'll find out what and where. I'll post some pictures of it too.
