Default Clutch is kicking the bucket, what to go with?

Had to launch onto the freeway today (poor on-ramp design). The clutch did not appreciate the 3000 rpm launch and decided to slip through the first 3 gears while I was desperately trying to nurse it but at the same time get up to speed so I didn't end up on the 10pm news.

The clutch has 130K and three owners on it but it seems to do okay. Hasn't ever slipped like this before, goes up hills just fine. But I know its just a sign of things to come.

- So -

Im planning on getting a chip, maybe RS2ed within a year or two. What is a good clutch that will work with the amount of power im shooting for?

Default The brand new stock extra one I have would be great.

Make a reasonable offer. Complete kit, clutch, PP and t/o bearing.

Default Everybody seems to like whichever one they chose...

I'm happy with the Centerforce I put in at 130k (now ~170k). It is stiff but not too stiff.

Only downside is it is stinky when slipped. I don't just mean it has an odor when slipped -- they all do -- but it's a really nasty smell.

034 has a nice setup! What I hate the litle noise with the light flywheel when the cluch released!

Default Make sure it's the correct Dual Mass Pressure Plate not the one for the 7A. Otherwise, nasty things

happen = broken bell housing.

The 7A Luk kit is Luk 02-026. The pressure plate is 3/8" thicker than the AAN pressure plate.

The correct AAN Luk kit is Luk 02-025.

Search the archives on 02-026 and look for kinderutz's horror story.
