Default 2012 q5 3.2 timming marks?

doing a upper cam chain tensioner on a 2012 Audi q5 3.2. to set it to tdc your supposed to remove the locking pin and put the one in that the kit came with. However the cover is beyond stripped and accessibility to is isn't easy. The side I'm doing is bank 2 because have correlation codes for bank 2 and misfires on 4-5-6. Can I just lock the passenger side head in time with the cam locks and then take chain off bank 2 readjust cams by hand till they lock into cam lock tool? The only thing that got me wondering is that cylinder 1 wasn't at tdc when I lock the passenger side bank 1 into time. Is there another way to tell tdc besides locking crank? Would cyl 1 all the way up mean tdc aswell? That'd mean bank one is off too but didn't have any codes for that side and that side was done already

You need to lock the camshafts on the side you are changing the upper chain tensioner. There is too much slack between each side to rely on the opposite side to secure the other side's camshafts.

The passenger side is out of correlation so I locked pass side that is supposed to be in time since no correlation codes on that side. I was going to remove cam gears and chain adjust cams by hand where they will lock in them lock them my issue is when I have the pass side cams locked in #1 cylinder doesn't appear that it is at tdc. The passenger side is supposed to be in time but when cams are locked in place motor isn't at tdc according to cyl #1

Are you using the crankshaft locking pin? When that pin is in place, the motor will be at TDC.

I Wasn't able to get the cover out for locking pin was trying to do it without but looks like I'll need it I'm going to try pulling the ac compressor tomorrow to give me more room to get up there and get the locking pin cover off. Any tips on getting locking pin out?

Once you remove the plug, the locking pin is threaded into the hole, which is threaded.

Did you try PB Blaster? Works pretty good for dissimilar metals being stuck. Spray and let it soak overnight.
