Hi,
This week I noticed that the rear bumper of my car is with a few (horrible) stains. It seems that something spilled there. I tried to remove the stains using some car wax, but it did not work.
My car is with 2k miles only and it is not my first option to send it to the paint shop to have the rear bumper repainted.
Does anyone have any idea or suggestion?

Sounds dumb, but it works - I use gasoline and it removes all grease, tar, paints, etc.
After rubbing it with gas, I wash the area like I usually do and have never had a problem.
YES - I did this to the hood of my 3 week old Mercedes and no harm was done.

Hi jrosa, when you took your car into the body shop did they mention what the stain was, as I have a similar stain on the upper part of my bumper.
thanks

If it's a flat or matte finish, a polish will mess up the paint. Since vinegar didn't work, you can try an alkaline base to see if that works but watch the molarity and ph (maybe stick to 1 mol and pH range of 8-12, so start w/ baking soda and go to ammonia or ammonia based cleaner). And as mentioned above, gasoline is a great solvent, but some mineral spirits (aka Naphtha) would probably be a better choice. The wife's former Q5 had plastic transfer from a run-in with a Yakima skybox in the garage that looked like scratches, and naphtha pulled it right off and didn't harm the finish. If that doesn't work, some electric parts cleaner that is plastic safe may be a good bet, for example something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/CRC-05103-E.../dp/B000BXOGNI.
