MMI Replacement App
OK Audi - what happened with the MMI replacement app for the phone? There is no calendar info, no contact info, essentially B&W text interface, nothing that relates to MMI functions in the car except for NAV (and I'm not sure that works - haven't tried it). The new one looks like it was programmed by a 10 year-old - visually, probably the worst auto app made for a phone, but I haven't seen all of them.

Seems okay to me. But then again, I wasn't using the old app because I never paid for Audi Connect PRIME beyond the free trial. I do see that I can lock/unlock remotely with the new app even though I'm not subscribed.

Now that I'm over the initial shock - it really is a visually unappealing app - the individual components seem to work once reconnected in the car. The things that were available on the original app that are missing - calendar and contacts at least - do show up in MMI. It looked like they were deleted, but they're there in MMI. Whether it's more functional remains to be seen - in the original the oil level was often wrong, and changed from full to empty regularly, so hopefully no one was relying on it. On the new app, the levels at least haven't changed for the brief time I've used it. It's not a quality app in appearance (the original graphic-oriented app looked much more finished, and this one visually certainly doesn't look like it belongs to a luxury auto), but I won't be as disappointed if it proves to be functional. Now guarded optimism....
