Default Check engine light

Greetings to all...
A question about the check engine light....does this come on periodically for a mileage based service reminder?

Regards

No, get your car diagnosed. If the light is flashing get the car towed, otherwise you should be ok to drive to your dealer if its not too far away.
Hope this helps, cheers..

Yep - you will need to get it checked out - could be as simple as the gas cap was not put on tight or as serious as carbon on the valves
