Default Handsfree "Volume" Control

Hi Guys,
This is not a question about how to raise or lower the volume during a phone call, but rather how to lower the volume of the "beep" when the phone connects to the car and the messages (e.g. Dialing... or Connection...). I sometimes have two sleeping babies in the car and the ridiculously high volume of these system messages wakes them up! I can't seem to find anything in the manual or on the forum. Any ideas?

Default

IIRC, the volume can't be changed.

Default Not sure if this will work with the phone but you can change the volume of the directions given for

Navigation, try going to the nav screen settings and set the volume, maybe it will change the volume of phone directions.

Default You might be able to change it with VAG-COM, but I have never tried.

VAG-COM would be the only way to change it and that may not even be possible. There are no user settings available.

Default Re: Not sure if this will work with the phone...

Unfortunately it doesn't. My nav volume is pretty low and so is the phone volume. It is just these "messages" that are ridiculously loud.

Default when I switched from motorola to nokia my "beep" got way louder

it's annoying as hell. My GF's nokia on the other hand has a more appropriate volume.

Default I had the same problem, but when I had my car in for service and I got it back the Bluetooth beep

you speak of was noticeably lower... Don't know why!

Default The volume of the "ping" when the car and phone discover each other cannot be changed, but ...

... my RS 4 cab does not give any audible messages for "dialing" or "connected" (and, like you, I don't want it to). Could this be because I disabled the navigation voice?

Default actually you can can change the discovery ping volume

turn on the car, and before the bluetooth discovers your phone, dial down the steering wheel volume control. the thing i haven't figured out is it resets to a higher volume from time to time. also, the volume of the ring when someone calls also stays very high sometimes.
