Conversely, I sometimes experience overly aggressive shifts, almost uncomfortable jolts, when pottering around town, but only when the gearbox is in Dynamic mode. In all other settings it's very smooth.
I can foresee software upgrades for this box
@ Hiker Guy - it sounds as if yours is not quite right if it's happening in all ADS settings. Dealer trip!

Same here Chris, my S5 was ordered 10/5, stamped built a November, and delivereed 12/3. Hopefully they updated it before our were built, because as I said I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary that I noticed.
Sorry to hear about your delays NWS4Guy. Hopefully you get yours before Jan. 1st. so you can take your sales tax as tax write off for this year.

The latest news was that is was on a ship and due in to Houston 12/16, so I think I will see it this year. The dealer said if we are cutting it close, they would likely be able to get some of the papers signed early so both of us can benefit (me for the tax write-off and them for one more sale in 2009).

Need help
I have the S tronic in an A7 245hp and it’s not as smooth as I would like. Seems intermittent between running smooth and rough. When rough can feel engine braking harder at slow speeds.
also at 80kmh it will keep twitching between 6th and 7th gear. Constantly keeps changing between these 2 gears. So annoying.
