Fuel Line Note
I am hearing reliably that Audi will notify owners of affected VINs OOA 10/22 as to whether their vehicle requires recall work with respect to the fuel line/fuel line bracket. Certain, but not all, brackets will require replacement, and to date VINs are apparently not keyed to brackets, so only an inspection can determine whether replacement is necessary. In other words, if your dealer runs your VIN against the recall, nothing will be learned, at least as of today.
I am only speculating, but it may be that Audi won't notify owners until the above date to accommodate immediate availability of replacement parts.
I will be inspected today unless I opt for a training ride.
That is all.

True (for now), but any service department that is paying attention can utilize the existing Audi "Work Procedure" to evaluate...this takes about one minute as everything is exposed. Parts, if needed, will take longer. It would be nice if there was a current VIN index, but we deal with what is...

I have learned further that, by Federal law, a manufacturer must have 70% of the replacement parts in stock before they issue a recall. Audi expects to exceed this percentage OOA 10/22 and will issue a US recall accordingly, as noted above.
Briefly, the parts include a new clamp that increases separation of the two lines, a yoke that further separates them, and replacement of the fuel line itself back to the tank.
I do not represent Audi.
I do work in gubmint and know where and how to ask, at least some of the time.

Just got my car back exactly 2 weeks since my fuel line leak. According to the service advisor, they had originally replaced the fuel line from tank to engine bay. Two days before the car was supposed to be returned to me, the dealership got a call from AOA telling them that an updated part is en route. So they kept the car one more day and replaced the fuel line with the new updated part. As mentioned in prior posts, a recall is brewing. AOA has been very involved in my well being over the phone and are being very thankful and apologetic.

My experience as well. I alerted my dealer upon seeing the first 'blown fuel line' posts here, and they have been communicating with AOA since, and keeping me informed on a regular basis. That is typical of my dealer.
I suspect that, since they have already replaced the line, they await the new clamp and the yoke, both of which increase the separation between the two lines.
Ask them to show you the "Work Procedure" document...it will give you a clear picture of 'new' versus 'old'.
I don't know if it's relevant, but before mine kicks down to idle upon startup, the upper line seems to oscilitate rather alarmingly.
I am scheduled for the replacements on 10/23, by which time my dealer, one way or another, expects to have parts.
We are going to look at wet leaves in the Adirondacks tomorrow...probably take her A4 Allroad, just to be prudent.
