Wish me luck!
A friend of mine spotted a 3=6 in a local junkyard recently.
He stopped in and they said they would sell it. The junkyeard was sold and now is just a scrap metal yard.
He said it's rough, but the only part noticably missing in the center rear window.
We plan on stopping there tomorrow afternoon, and see what kind of deal we can workout.
No real plans for it, but I guess we just can't bear to see it crushed.

Ha..no such luck!
We went and looked at it the other day.
Boy is it beat!
On a scale form 1 to 10 it would be down around the bottom. Just about every panel is dented or rusted through.
The center rear window is missing, and has been for quite awhile. so it's been sitting for at least 15 years catching rain and snow.
Most of the window glass is fogged.
The motor seems intact, and with the hood being closed, it doesn't look like it's taken in any water.
All in all it may have a few good parts on it. I'd say the drivetrain may the best of it. There may be a few other bits that could be salvaged, but not too much.
The guy gave us some of it's history, and agreed it was beyond fixing up. We chatted for a bit and he asked what I would offer. I said it would be a parts donor for sure and he conceded.
I offered $100 for salvage value, it was in a junkyard afterall for the last 15 years. It's not like there's suddenly going be a great rush for parts on it.
He scoffed and walked away, so I guess I must have insulted him. We left and that was that.
Someone on here was looking for a motor. This might fit the bill if you could get it for a reasonable price. If you're interested I could look up the name of the place and get the contact info. It's just a rinky-dink salvage yard.

Re: Good luck. I'd like to see pictures when you get it.
Sqidix9, think we communicated through the dkw yahoo group. New York state, right?
Teach, there is a South African web site with quite a number of pictures. Just search dkw south africa.
