Find a 13-14v - 5A laptop charger or something similar, cut the connector, make sure pos 12 and Neg 12. Find an old cigarette plug car phone charger, open it up, remove the down converter, Connect plus 13-14 v from the AC/DC charger to the center pin and negative to the side of the plug. Plug in the cigarette in the front or the back, plug in the AC charger, you should have 12v with 5A to power the locks.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Everyone should practice the emergency procedures on this car under ideal conditions.
1. Releasing the shift lever when the car will not recognize the ignition key fob.
2. Removing the ignition key when battery is dead (Disconnect battery to simulate).
3. Close sunroof when sunroof motor fails.

My sunroom is a problem. Only opened to check drains, the two weeks a year we have that is open sunroof weather is never when I am driving my Audi. Also why the top has been down on the wife’s 335i about five times in 11 years.
But the roof does not always close on my A8. Goes about 75% and then reopens. I have to push on it to get it to close. Like a Manuel assist. Is the motor weak?

A phone charger plug will not work. It has electronics to convert voltage. Get something likie a trouble light that plugs into a cigarette lighter. I used an old 12V air compressor. (one of things you plug in and it makes a racket, plus moving around while inflating a tire forever). Cut the cigarette lighter plug off, strip the wires and connect to a 12V jumper battery. Stick in cigarette socket and presto, you have voltage to the door lock system, Now use your remote to open trunk and get to battery. When your done solder the cigarette plug back on (or not and keep it for the next time your wife leaves the lights on all night and runs the battery down again.
