Lower Temp Switch - After Run Coolant
Should I bother? 2002 Allroad 2.7T, stage one. It gets some spirited driving, but nothing extreme. Should I bother with the lower temp coolant switch? Part number/source?

So turbos spin more if you drive at higher altitutude because they will maintain constant pressure within the engine when under load. So that may be a consideration for you depending on where you live. From what I remember the switch is cheap, easy to install, it does not kill your battery and it adds an extra level of protection so why not?
I am sure I will buy one for this car that I just got.

I saw somewhere that an owner had documented the coolant and oil temperatures before and after the switch install. There was an average of 10 degrees between the original switch and the lower temperature switch. Worth it? Like you said, it's a simple install and not an expensive part.
