S4 1st and 2nd Gear difficulties
Having extreme difficulty getting the shifter into, 1st, 2nd and reverse. I read in the archives that it was either the 1st-2nd gear slider or the shift for. Can anyone give me more info on prices and difficulty of installation of these and which you think it is? Car is the same if it is running or not... so i dont think its syncros

I had a problem similar to this and it turned out to be that my brake pads and rotors had gotten very worn and since the clutch and brake system are part the same system it wasnt putting enough pressure to the clutch to let me put the car into gear smoothly. The car wasnt drivable.
