So my 2002 AR has already had a few engine seals/gaskets replaced under warranty according to the PO's records, but I want to get the vented oil filler cap anyway to keep it from happening again. Where's a good place to get a real one cheap? eBay is full of crappy ones, GenuineAudiParts and ECS Tuning have decent prices but want a ton for shipping a small part. I've looked elsewhere online, but can't seem to find much. Let me know if any of you have found a cheap place to snag one.

Part was $19.95 and shipping was like $7.50.. That was the cheapest I could find..
But call him because if you order online, for some reason the shipping is not calculated correctly.

I don't see why not... Let me check online to see if the part numbers are the same.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I already sucked it up and ordered it from GenuineAudiParts. Hopefully this thread helps someone else out along the way.

As a side note, the part should fit just about any newer Audi engine (and I think lots of VWs) too.

No problem man, sucks that you had to order it though.. But yea, Hopefully they will learn from this thread as it also has the part number to the "updated/vented" oil cap. Yes, you are right about the fitment ...
